Be a Bum, Just Do it!

"I wish I would have a real tragic love affair and get so bummed out that I’d just quit my job and become a bum for a few years, because I was thinking about doing that anyway."
- Jack Handey

I'm Back...

I was thinking a lot about inspiration today and all the places one can feel inspired. For me it is often in the form of music, but it also sneaks up on me when I least expect it in different places. As the snow melts in Jackson town and everything turns to muck, I surprisingly caught myself today smiling at the sight of a very craptastic looking butte in town. But it wasn't the butte - it was the deer hanging out, blending almost perfectly with the mountain and walking oh so close to the highway. But they were very aware, and they were beautiful. Something beautiful against something drab. That is worth some insipiration.

And earlier tonight I was inspired in a much different way while watching a news anchor lose his shiz for a good ten minutes on his audience. But I couldn't turn away or change the channel. I wanted to turn it up!  It was a great inspiration for me as I thought, "dear lord, never let yourself go that crazy bananas...in public." You ask - why was he losing his shiz? The government. What else? And no, it was not Fox News (which I also enjoy watching for the crazy, shiz losing anchors).

But back to music inspiration...this week I discovered that one of my favorite songwriters is coming out with a new album in June. And the lead track has been bopping in my head ever since. So. darn. catchy. Thank you Miss Jill Andrews. I don't have a great vid of that track to share, but this one is just as good.
